In Lindaunis, northern Germany, InfraRentals contributed to a project involving soil replacement in Lindaunis at the “Ölweiche” location. The work prepared the track bed for the construction of an additional track parallel to the existing one. Using the LRB355.1 in combination with our 2335VM vibratory hammer, steel boxes were vibrated into the ground. The soil inside each box was then excavated using an excavator. Afterward, the box was refilled and compacted with a sand-gravel mixture, before being pulled out again.
Approximately 1.300 boxes were replaced using this method. The project ran from the end of September 2021 to January 2022, shorter than originally planned.
